Matt 14:22-33:  26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!” 27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!” 28 Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” 29 “Yes, come,” Jesus said.

This story is more than just simply teaching us about Peter’s faith. It reaches further into our lives and shows us, “How we are to live!”

  1. Notice the disciples had to row ALL NIGHT to get to a certain place in the lake, but after praying ALL NIGHT, Jesus made it to that same place in just a few moments. How did Jesus make it to the same place in less time with less effort? Jesus is teaching us how to accelerate His plan and purpose in our life through this avenue called the supernatural.

  2. How can we tap into supernatural living?

  3. For many of us, this story describes our walk with God…we have been rowing in our own effort and the wind and the waves are pushing back, and we think the only way to go forward is to just row harder. We look at other people and they are seemingly walking on stuff that we are sinking into, which causes us to ask: “God what am I missing?”

  4. The difference, the advantage, is the supernatural!

  5. What appears to be a storm in your life?

  1. The Disciples saw Jesus, and truly seeing Him Jesus changes your potential! Redemption changes your potential. When you got saved, immediately, your potential changed.

  2. Before you got saved, your potential was based on your own efforts, talent, education, background, and opportunities. However, when you get saved your potential changes, and all of the stuff that used to matter to your potential, doesn’t matter anymore.

  3. Why? Because He exposes you to a life like you have never seen before. This story is about exposure.

  4. Whatever He exposes you to He also invites you into. He exposes them to the supernatural so they can live IN IT!

  5. What is Jesus inviting you into that requires trusting Him like never before?

  1. Billy Graham said, “The success of a person’s life can be found in their daily routine.”

  2. What one thing can you add to your daily routine that will move you closer to “Walking on the Water”?
